Greetail’s story begins in a small town in India, where entrepreneurial talent lacks support. Several small entrepreneurs, especially women, suffer from severe limitations in terms of reach and visibility. Our co-founder, Aparijita Bajpayee, was determined to build a platform where local businesses get the attention they deserve. She also wanted to make healthy, quality products a practical choice for the working middle class.
Her concerns resonated with the co-founders Deepak Prasad and Arindam Bajpayee. The covid pandemic delivered blow after blow to the Indian economy. Many households struggled financially and local entrepreneurs suffered enormous setbacks. The trio thought that it was the right time to step in and change lives with their project.
Greetail is rooted in the desire to bring forward affordable local products that meet high quality and sustainability standards. At the core of Greetail is a group of like-minded people who wish to change society for the better. Our project revolves around three words: empowered, local, healthy.
Greetail empowers local businesses with technical support. We don’t want technical difficulties to stop deserving enterprises from making a profit. We lend local entrepreneurs a helping hand for packaging, delivery and visibility. Hence, entrepreneurs can devote more time and energy to making quality products.
The Greetail platform exclusively lists local products that struggle to get visibility on the internet. Branded products manufactured by corporate giants dominate the market but fail to meet the needs of a large section of the society. We believe that class or standard should not block access to healthy food and quality products. Greetail cuts down on transportation costs by focusing on local products. Hence, we offer quality products without giving consumers a run for their money.
Lastly, we believe in the importance of sustainable business practices. Plastic has disastrous effects on the environment, and 40% of that plastic comes from packaging. We want to be a part of the solution, not the problem. We refrain from generating plastic waste through our packaging process and use alternative packaging materials wherever possible.
